Dear Parents,

Thank you for a wonderful year! We appreciate the support and cooperation you have given us throughout the school year. It has been a pleasure working with you and your family and a privilege to play such an important role in your child’s life. It is a gift to watch them grow, develop and gain confidence in themselves and their abilities. Thank you for allowing us to experience these precious moments with your child. May your summer be wonderfully fun and relaxing! For those of you who are staying on with us throughout the summer, we promise to make it a fun one for the children.

Sincerely,

Maria Donati & NCLC Staff

I hope that you and your child had a great experience with NCLC this year and we are looking forward to a great summer! Congratulations to all our Kindergarten graduates! As we finish up our Bible curriculum for the school year, the first week in June, the toddler class (T1) will learn that God loves them and protects them when they are sleeping. The T2 and Preschool classes will learn that God kept Paul safe during a transfer from jail and a shipwreck. The Pre- K and Kindergarten will hear the story of the Good Samaritan and pick their favorite Bible story of Jesus and create a picture of that story.

The students will bring home worksheets or crafts that relate to the Bible stories they have heard. Please ask them to tell you about them. It will help them remember.

During the week of July 13th – 17th we will be having Vacation Bible School (VBS) at NCLC. The children (and teachers) had so much fun over the last few years we wanted to provide this experience for the children again this year. This year, the children will be seeing that Jesus came to earth because He wants to be our best friend and to rescue us. When Jesus returns to earth, he will take us to be with Him forever! We will have opening and closing activities in the fellowship hall and divide into their normal classrooms during the rest of the morning.

I hope you have a great summer! We will here at NCLC. If you have any family issues or concerns over the summer please feel free to call. I would like to pray with you and help you in any way I or the church can. Or if you have any questions or would like to talk with me, please give me a call @ 883-4356.

Nancy’s Notesmusical note

At the beginning of this year, I started a new teaching job at another preschool that had not had music and movement classes for many years (although the teachers have done some singing in the classroom). This gave me the opportunity to see the difference in the NCLC children, who have had a music and movement program since they were one year old, and those who did not. The differences I saw were striking. The NCLC children, as a group, are so much more developed in their ability to sing in tune, move to a steady beat and move with correct rhythm, and even their physical co-ordination skills were more developed than the children in the other preschool. I am gratified that I have been able to help your children develop their musical skills, and I hope that they will continue to be nurtured musically when they leave NCLC!

This month, among other things, we have had fun playing with the parachute. We have been learning how to work as a group to keep the ball on the parachute, while we skip around in a circle, move it up and down, etc. After practicing to the song of “Skip to My Lou,” we have lots of fun popping the ball up to “Pop, Goes the Weasel!”
To help you continue the musical fun at home this summer, I have compiled a list of some of the children’s favorite songs this year, and where you can download them.
