Pastor Shirley Kaltenbach, NCLC’s ordained resident pastor, will be working with you and your child’s teacher to encourage your child’s spiritual growth through Bible curriculum and song. Pastor Shirley is available, as your family’s needs arise, to minister to you and your child as your family encounters the challenges of life.
NCLC is a ministry of Community Chapel and is operated on the basis of faith in Jesus Christ. To fulfill our mission, as we encourage spiritual development in the children, the NCLC pastor guides the staff as they incorporate prayer, Bible verses, and Bible lessons in each day’s activities. The NCLC pastor also provides a curriculum of weekly Bible lessons and activities which nurture a moral foundation in the children.
We believe:
- We believe one God – the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- That the Old and New Testament Scriptures, given by the inspiration of His Spirit, contain all truth necessary to faith and Christian living.
- In the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, His death on the cross, His resurrection, His ascension, and His personal return in power and glory.
- That salvation is afforded sinful man through our repentance, and acceptance of Jesus Christ in our heart. This is a gift of God’s grace.
- That the continued presence of the Holy Spirit in our hearts enables us to live a Godly life.
- That at the end of our lives we will be held accountable and judged by God.
Young children can understand the following truths:
- God loves each of us equally and has a plan for each of our lives.
- Jesus teaches us how to live and wants to be our forever friend.
- We should be thankful every day for the blessings we receive.
- We are a part of God’s big world, and we have great worth because of His love for us.
- We are all wonderful beings meant to love and respect one another.
NCLC Pastor’s Corner
Dear NCLC Parent or Guardian,
Welcome to a new school year at NCLC!
At NCLC we want to help your child have the best growing and learning experience possible. This time of life is such an exciting time for both you and your child. He/she will be developing and changing so quickly in so many areas. We will be providing learning experiences that will help your child develop in all the ways in which they are growing: physically, intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually.
As the Pastor of NCLC, I will be working with your child’s teachers to provide opportunities for your child to develop a relationship with God. Your child’s teachers and I will be working together to teach the weekly Bible lesson. I will also be in the classroom to get to know your child better and answer any questions they might have.
However, I am not only here for your child. I am also here to provide help and support to you and your family in any way I can. Many parents have questions about how they should introduce their child to God or even if they should talk with their children about their own belief system. I would be happy to talk through that with you or any other questions or concerns you might have.
I would also like to ask you to contact me if there are any changes in your family. There might be a new baby. An older sibling might go away to school or to the armed services. A parent or guardian might have to be away from home for an extended period of time. A beloved grandparent might pass away. A parent might have lost a job or had to reduce working hours. If any change occurs, please let me know. Changes in the family, even the loss of a well-loved pet, can deeply affect a child. We would like to be aware so that we can help your child through this difficult time. And, I would like to pray for you and your child and help you in any way that I or Community Chapel can help.
You can reach me at NCLC, 603-883-4356 or through email at pastorshirley@community-chapel.org
I am so looking forward to getting to know you and your children this year!
God’s blessings on you and your family!
Pastor Shirley (Kaltenbach)
