The Greatest Story
The little Baby Jesus
Was born upon the hay.
Along came the angel sending
Shepherds on their way.
Out came the bright star
For Wise Men and their gold.
And that is the greatest
Story ever told.

NCLC Pastor’s Corner
Merry Christmas to you and your family! I am sure you are very busy with all the shopping and gatherings of family and friends. When we give gifts to our family and friends this season, we follow the pattern that God showed when He gave Himself to us in human form as Jesus Christ. He came to show how much He loves us by paying the penalty for our sin. He sacrificed Himself because He wants a relationship with us. So, during the Christmas season, please take time to enjoy your family and friends and remember that God loves you and wants a relationship with you.
Bible Story Themes: During the weekly Bible story and follow up activity in December, the children will be learning about Jesus’ birth. They will learn that Jesus’ birth was foretold by the prophets hundreds of years before He was born, that God came to earth in human form to show He loves us by paying the penalty for our sin. He loves us and wants to have a relationship with us. The children will learn how Jesus’ birth was different than any human child and that shepherds and wise men from far away came to celebrate his birth.
Your child will be bringing home pictures they have colored and possibly a craft project relating to the stories they have heard. Please ask them about the story. It will help them remember.
Chapel Dates and Times: Community Chapel pastors will have 30 minute chapel for NCLC children on December 15th and 16th starting at 9:30 in the sanctuary at Community Chapel. Parents are welcome to attend. We hope you will join us!
A Request: If there are any changes in your family, please let me know. Changes in the family, the death of a grandparent or even the loss of a well-loved pet, can deeply affect a child. We would like to be aware so that we can help your child through this difficult time. And, I would like to pray for you and your child and help you in any way that I or Community Chapel can help.If you have any questions about my role at NCLC, the Bible curriculum, helping your child develop his/her relationship with God, or any family concerns, please call me at NCLC, 603-883-4356. Hope you have a great Christmas season!

Nancy’s Notes
Dear Parents,
“Jack Frost sneakin’ up upon the garden, Jack Frost creepin’ up so quiet and still…..
We have been singing this quiet and mysterious little song while making our fingers creep along to the beat of the music. The children love making up places where Jack Frost might be creeping, and we sing a new verse with each of their ideas (the house, the playground, the car, my mama’s pillow!). This teaches the children that music is something we can create, not just something we copy.
This month has been about musical contrast. Research has shown that it is helpful to play music in different keys or “pitch centers” to help the child internalize musical syntax or “language.” Our Jack Frost song is an example of a song pitched in a “minor” key, which contrasts with many other songs we sing pitched in “major” keys. We have also been singing songs with contrasting moods: loud, soft, fast, slow, and we have been following our quiet mysterious Jack Frost song with a rousing, joyful “Jumping Josie,” – I’m sure you can guess what the main activity is!
In December I will be bringing in my jingle bells to sing some of the children’s favorite Christmas songs.
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Happy Singing!
Nancy
