The marvelous thing about learning style is that every teacher can help to provide a warm prevailing breeze to lift all those “Kites” and help them soar. Sometimes the strings may get tangled up, but now we can understand how a little more dimension and space can keep them free and flying.

Curbside drop-off and pick-up

Curbside drop-off and pick-up is only for morning and 9:00am-2:00pm students. If your child is here for child care please, please do not park your car curbside during drop-off and pick-up. Cars parked curbside make it difficult to see parents and children crossing.

thermometersSpring Fundraiser

“Oh no, another fundraiser! What do they do with all that money?”
“Doesn’t the tuition pay for anything?”
These are some of the questions you may ask yourself when you see a fundraiser brochure come home. We know that parents may question the reason for fundraising campaigns and we know that they may become burdensome. We want you to know how much we depend on the proceeds and how much we appreciate your loyalty and participation.
Proceeds from each sale enable us to keep the cost of tuition down and allow us to provide an enriched school experience for your child. Our fall fundraiser earned $3500 We hope that our spring fundraising campaign will match our profits from our fall campaign.
I would like to share with you how the proceeds are being spent. Here are some of the exciting things we have already done and plan to do for the remainder of the school year.

  • Special Events
    • The Greg and Axel Magic Show
    • The Migrating Butterfly Workshop
    • Steve Blunt Concert
    • Maple Sugaring Workshop

NCLC Pastor’s Corner

March is here already! The days are getting longer. I was sitting in the car in the sun the other day and it was actually warm! I hope you and your family have had an opportunity to enjoy this winter. It is almost over. This month we will be leading up to Palm Sunday which is March 20th and Easter, March 27th. I hope you are looking forward to this as much as I am.

Bible Story Themes: During the weekly Bible story and follow up activity, the Toddler 1 group will be learning that God made them and He made babies. The Toddler 2-Kindergarten will hear that Jesus walked on water and that Jesus loves children. Then all age levels will hear how Jesus came into Jerusalem and all the people cheered for him, waving palm branches and laying the cloaks in the road. Then they will learn that God loves us so much that He came to earth as Jesus. He took all our sin on Himself and paid the price in death for our sin. He did that because He loves us and wants a relationship with us. And He showed that He conquered death and sin by rising from the dead on Easter Sunday. What victory and joy! It is ours to share with Him if we accept that He is the one who paid for our sins. We will be celebrating His life together.

Your child will be bringing home pictures they have colored and possibly a craft project relating to the story they have heard. Please ask them about the story. It will help them remember.

Remember the Date: March 19th please come to our Easter Egg hunt! All children from NCLC are invited as well as children up though elementary. Please look for a sheet of information coming home with your child. We are going to have a lot of fun!

A Request: If there are any changes in your family, please let me know. Changes in the family, even the loss of a well-loved pet, can deeply affect a child. We would like to be aware so that we can help your child through this difficult time. And, I would like to pray for you and your child and help you in any way that I or Community Chapel can help.

If you have any questions about my role at NCLC, the Bible curriculum, helping your child develop his/her relationship with God, or any family concerns, please call me at NCLC, 603-883-4356.

Nancy’s Notes

Dear Parents,

It’s always amazing to me to watch the children grow musically from year to year. After Christmas vacation they always seem so much older to me, and this year I noticed in particular how strong the kindergartners’ singing voices are, and how many of them are singing the correct notes! The three and four-year-olds can now move and dance in a circle, clap to the beat of the song, and follow me when I change the beat that we are moving to. The 2-year olds can anticipate what I am going to do – when they sit down at the beginning of class, many of them start tapping their knees and sing, “Hel-lo” even before I play one chord on the guitar! And the one-year-olds will imitate my movements to the music and explore rhythm instruments in the “play-along.” I often hear them singing the “resting tone” (the last note of the song) correctly.

In February we finished up our winter songs and played with the parachute and resonator bells. March will bring some early spring songs, easy folk dances and hand-drum marching bands!

Happy Singing! Nancy
