Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year at Nashua Child Learning Center. We appreciate your co-operation with our first few days of school.
Classes are well underway and the children are adjusting to their new schedules. We consider it a privilege to have your children and enjoy watching them grow through various stages of development.
We want to keep you aware of the happenings at NCLC therefore a newsletter will be sent home at the beginning of each month. Please take time to read the important notices in these monthly newsletters. Also, please keep your family handbook handy during the school year as a reference guide and pay special attention to the school calendar.
We would greatly appreciate it if you would return the Handbook Acknowledgement form and the snow day survey that are attached to this newsletter.
You are free to visit our classes or call the office with questions or concerns. Please keep us informed of any changes in your child’s behavior or home routine. It is vital that we work together for the benefit of the children.
Thank you for sharing your children with us. We look forward to a rewarding and exciting year.
Sincerely,
Maria E. Donati
Director
Important Reminders
- Payment Schedule and Late Fees
Please review our policy regarding tuition payments on pages 8 of your family handbook. If payment is late there will be a $25.00 late fee. This policy will be strictly enforced. - Morning students – Tuition payments are due on the first school day of the month.
Child Care students – Tuition payments are due on the first school day of the week for the week coming. - Please, please, please write your child’s name in the “memo” area of your check. We have several children with the same last name and some whose names are different from their parents. Also, indicate the week you are paying for. This allows us to verify our records with yours.
- Security Cards – Additional security cards are available for purchase in the school office. There are also forms near the sign-in table in the school lobby. $5.00 must accompany your completed form.
*You must have your pass card with you at all times to enter the building. - Office hours – Christine Hagerty our Administrative Assistant is available Monday thru Friday during the hours of 9:30am – 5:30pm for billing information.
- Notes from teachers of AM students and 9:00-2:00 students – Please pass any notes or checks to the teachers in carpool. It is not the teacher’s responsibility to check the backpacks each day.
- Carpool – Carpool will start at the NCLC entrance. Your child must sit on the passenger side of your car so that unloading can be done curbside. Parents, you are responsible for securing your child’s seatbelt at pick-up. Please stay in carpool line. Do not park your car and cross the lot to get your child. If your child sees you they may run out to meet you. Please continue to display your child’s name in your windshield. It helps carpool move faster.
- All Child Care Parents – Please do not park your car curbside or in the handicapped spaces. You must park your car in a parking space and take your keys with you. Do not leave your car running.
- Sign-in book – All child care children must be signed in and out every day with time of arrival and departure. This sign-in/out procedure is a State of New Hampshire Child Care Licensing regulation that we must follow. Please sign your name in the appropriate box at the end of the week.
- Pick-up – a note must be given to your child’s teacher if someone other than yourself will be picking up your child. This person must be able to supply a state issued documentation of their identity (a driver’s license). It is just as important for us to know if there are certain persons who must never pick up your child. If custody is a concern you must give us a legal document that specifies so.
- Late Pick-Up (after hours) – We close promptly at 5:30pm therefore we expect all children to be picked-up by 5:30pm. A late pick-up fee will be charged if children remain in the center past 5:30pm. The fee is $1.00 per minute per child for each minute after 5:30pm. This policy will be strictly enforced.
- Emergency Info – Please keep the office updated on any changes in phone numbers and emergency info.
- Labels – As stated in your handbook, “all clothing and personal items must be labeled.” It is very difficult to keep track of backpacks and belongings when there are no names on them. All bedding for child care children must be taken home and laundered every Friday. Our cubbies are small so please send a child size fitted sheet, one small blanket and a small pillow.
- Peanut Allergies – Due to severe peanut allergies please refrain from bringing foods containing peanuts.
- Menus – School snack and lunch menus are available in the school lobby for parents to take home.

Nancy’s Notes
Dear Parents,
For the past three years, I have had the privilege of working with your children and I am looking forward to another great year! While it may look like we are just singing and dancing, everything that I do has been thoroughly researched to provide your child with the best musically-rich, developmentally-appropriate learning experience possible. Starting this year, I would like to include YOU in our music and movement class, by giving you some resources that you can use at home to reinforce the activities we are doing at school. I will also be keeping you informed through this newsletter about what we have been learning along with the children’s favorite songs.
Song List
Below is a list of some of the songs we will be learning this fall. If you would like to buy any of them, some of them can be purchased individually (from Cd-Baby, itunes, etc.) and downloaded on your music-playing device. The rest of them are only available by purchasing the entire CD (you can often find these second-hand from Amazon, etc.) At this time, Lui Collins’ music is only available by CD, but I am working with her to make it possible for the songs to be individually downloaded in the future.
Songs available for individual download:
- Biddy Biddy Music Together Family Favorites
- Ridin’ in the Car Music Together Family Favorites
- John the Rabbit Music Together Family Favorites
- One Little Owl Music Together Family Favorites
- Singing Every Day Music Together Family Favorites #2
