It’s May! It seems impossible that there are only seven more weeks of school until summer! As the days get warmer and the flowers come out, I am sure we will all want to be outside as much as possible enjoying the new life God brings every year.

Last month we celebrated Jesus’ victory over sin and death after He was resurrected from the dead. We learned that Jesus was seen by over 5,000 people after he arose from the dead. It is incredible to me that God came to earth as a man and died because there is no other way for us to have a relationship with Him. God wants a relationship with us, even me! What amazing love! As you go about your lives this month, remember that God loves you.

The teachers will be sending home what will be covered in Bible this month. And as always, your child will be bringing home pictures they have colored and possibly a craft project relating to the story they have heard. Please ask them about the story. It will help them remember.

Shipwrecked! – Vacation Bible Camp! Vacation Bible Camp is coming. If your child is coming to NCLC this summer they will be participating in Shipwrecked VBC as a part of NCLC summer activities during the week of July 9th – 13th. If your child is not coming to NCLC this summer or if you have children who are between 4 years old and going into the 6th grade, you are invited to Community Chapel’s VBC July 10th through the 13th from 9:30AM through 12:15PM. We always have so much fun!
NCLC will be combining with Community Chapel for opening activities every day during VBC except Monday.

Chapel: This month we will be having chapel in the Fellowship Hall May 23 (this is a change in the date). Preschool through K will be at 9:30am. The Toddler classes and Transitional Preschool will be at 10:00. We would love for you to come if you can.

A Request: If there are any changes in your family, please let me know. I pray for all the children and families in NCLC on a regular basis. If there is something specific you would like me to pray about, please let me know. I would be happy to be able to pray specifically.
If you have any questions about my role at NCLC, the Bible curriculum, helping your child develop his/her relationship with God, or any family concerns, please call me at NCLC, 603-883-4356 or send email to pastorshirley@community-chapel.org .

musical noteNancy’s Notes

Dear Parents,

In music class this month, we had lots of fun with the parachute. We practiced lifting it up and down, side to side to the beat of the music. When the children were able to do this successfully as a group, I added a ball to the activity. We played a game of “see how long we can keep the ball on the parachute without it falling off” to the song, “Pop Goes the Weasel”. The most fun part of this activity was anticipating the word, “POP! (goes the weasel)” and popping the ball up to the ceiling.

The toddlers are having fun with my bag of rhythm instruments which they use to play along to the music. Some of them are already starting to play with a steady beat, sometimes matching the beat of the music. Amazing to see in a 2-year-old!

Next month I will be bringing back our spring favorites, “Robin Redbreast”, “John the Rabbit”, and with “Dancing with Teddy”. I can’t wait!

Happy Singing!
Nancy
