wise manThe Greatest Story

The little Baby Jesus

Was born upon the hay.

Along came the angel sending

Shepherds on their way.

Out came the bright star

For Wise Men and their gold.

And that is the greatest

Story ever told.

nativityNCLC Pastor’s Corner

Merry Christmas to you and your family! I am sure you are very busy with all the shopping and gatherings of family and friends. When we give gifts to our family and friends this season, we follow the pattern that God showed when He gave Himself to us in human form as Jesus Christ. He came to show how much He loves us by paying the penalty for our sin. He sacrificed Himself because He wants a relationship with us. So, during the Christmas season, please take time to enjoy your family and friends and remember that God loves you and wants a relationship with you.

I have been so enjoying spending time with all the children. I love their curiosity and their sense of accomplishment when they learn something new or prove they can do something they couldn’t do a week ago. How precious each one of them is and how much God loves each one.

Bible Story Themes: During the weekly Bible story and follow up activity the children have with their teachers they will learn how Jesus’ birth was different from any human child. It was as remarkable as God Himself and as truly unique as Jesus is. Your child will be bringing home pictures they have colored and possibly a craft project relating to the stories they have heard. Please ask them about the story. It will help them remember. They will also be learning a Bible verse and songs.

Chapel Dates and Times: Community Chapel pastors will have 30 minute chapel for NCLC children on December 12th starting at 9:30 for children in Transitional PreSchool and younger in the sanctuary at Community Chapel. At 10:00 we will have chapel for the PreSchool and older children also in the Sanctuary. We would love to have you come!

A Request: If there are any changes in your family, please let me know. Changes in the family, the death of a grandparent or even the loss of a well-loved pet, can deeply affect a child. We would like to be aware so that we can help your child through this difficult time. And, I would like to pray for you and your child and help you in any way that I or Community Chapel can help. If you have any questions about my role at NCLC, the Bible curriculum, helping your child develop his/her relationship with God, or any family concerns, please call me at NCLC, 603-883-4356.

Hope you have a great Christmas season!

Pastor Shirley (Kaltenbach)

musical noteNancy’s Notes

Dear Parents, “Jack Frost creepin’ up upon the garden, Jack Frost sneakin’ up so quiet and still, tiptoe tiptoe silently stalking, goodbye summer, goodbye.” This song is how we started November. The children love giving me suggestions about where Jack Frost might be creeping. This month we also played with our hand drums, among other things. First, each child was given a hand drum and as I sang I asked the children to see if they could find the beat of the music and play it on their drums. They were delighted that the hand drums could also be used as steering wheels for the “Ridin’ in the Car” song. They also discovered that if they turn the drum over and sing into it, they could feel the head of the drum “tickle” their fingers!

I am bringing back children’s Christmas favorites for the month of December and it’s no surprise that they are already requesting “Frosty the Snowman”. We started this week with “Jingle Bells”, and will be adding more as we go through the month. December is a great time to sing with your children because there are so many songs everyone knows.

Merry Christmas and Happy Singing!

Nancy
